Dr. Jalusa Deon Kich

Dr. Jalusa Deon Kich (PhD, Embrapa Swine and Poultry) is researcher of Swine Health Research Group. She has been PI of several research projects in preventive veterinary medicine, specifically on the epidemiology of Salmonella infection and control in the swine production chain. She was leader of modernization of meat inspection in pork project in cooperation with the Agriculture Ministry and Rio Grande do Sul Federal University. Dr. Kich is a member of the national Agriculture Ministry’s “work group of antimicrobial resistance” and is leader of the project “Studies of antimicrobials use in pig farming as a subsidy for the National Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Antimicrobial Resistance. Moreover, she integrates the FAO/WHO community “Expert Meeting on Microbiological Risk Assessment” (JEMRA).
