Jean Fontaine was chosen Honoris Causa of the Gala Ceres 2018

January 17th, 2018 was a special evening for Jean Fontaine, President and founder of the Jefo Group, who was honored at the Gala Ceres. The event, which is part of the Salon de l’Agriculture (Agricultural Fair of Saint-Hyacinthe), has paid tribute to Jean for his significant contribution to the agri-food sector of Quebec.

“Our Board of Directors is particularly proud to host a business founder and manager of the caliber of Mr. Jean Fontaine. Today, the company he created from scratch is a flagship of our agri-food industry,” said Mr. André Cécyre, President of the Board of Directors of the Salon de L’Agriculture.

Leading the company founded in 1982, Jean Fontaine has accomplished a lot during these 35 years. It started as a small family business and became a multinational organization present on all the continents. Jefo sells its products in about 60 countries and employs more than 250 employees globally.

In his speech, Jean Fontaine spoke about his attachment to the Saint-Hyacinthe region, as well as the company’s future projects. Aiming to achieve 1 billion dollars in revenue by 2025, he also expects to reach 500 employees in a few years.

“35 years seem much, but time flies. We were a small modest business and today we have a global corporation. And this is just the beginning,” said Jean Fontaine.
